How my soaping journey began
Clean Skin Essentials was born before my son was born.
I was mentally preparing myself for motherhood. What I needed to do. What I wanted to do. What I must do.
I have always had problems with my skin being overly sensitive to certain products. Unfortunately, I came from a family (both sides) that have very sensitive skin; partnered with allergies to direct sunlight, dust, pollen, trees, grass, fruits, etc.. Soaps for instance are always a challenge even the ones that are supposed to be “Hypoallergenic” just does not seem to work for me. I always end up with either blotchy, itchy, dry skin. And so, I was determined to not let me my newborn son go through that phase, or at least control it if I can’t prevent it. And so my soaping journey started.
When my son Franco was born, he’s already shown signs of the same skin problems/conditions I have had to deal with since I was a child. I knew that one of the things we needed to watch out for are the products that we put on his skin. I did not want any (unnecessary) harsh chemicals. That was my driving force. So I started researching and studying how to make soap and eventually ventured into other products like lotions, creams and balms.
And so, a few years after here we are… sharing and making my soaps available to everyone after having a good number of people test my soaps and giving them the thumbs up!.
Our philosophy is pretty simple. To provide a True Soap that is natural, simple and honest. Natural: no artificial preservatives or chemicals. Simple: for YOU to use. Honest; because we want to be transparent and want to divulge and make YOU understand every single ingredient that we use in our soaps in a language that we all understand.
